Wear sunscreen.
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience. I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. Oh, never mind. You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they've faded. But trust me, in 20 years, you'll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked. You are not as fat as you imagine.
Don't worry about the future. Or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind, the kind that blindside you at 4 pm on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing every day that scares you.
Sing.
Don't be reckless with other people's hearts. Don't put up with people who are reckless with yours.
Floss.
Don't waste your time on jealousy. Sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind. The race is long and, in the end, it's only with yourself.
Remember compliments you receive. Forget the insults. If you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old love letters. Throw away your old bank statements.
Stretch.
Don't feel guilty if you don't know what you want to do with your life. The most interesting people I know didn't know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives. Some of the most interesting 40-year-olds I know still don't.
Get plenty of calcium. Be kind to your knees. You'll miss them when they're gone.
Maybe you'll marry, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll have children, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll divorce at 40, maybe you'll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary. Whatever you do, don't congratulate yourself too much, or berate yourself either. Your choices are half chance. So are everybody else's.
Enjoy your body. Use it every way you can. Don't be afraid of it or of what other people think of it. It's the greatest instrument you'll ever own.
Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room.
Read the directions, even if you don't follow them.
Do not read beauty magazines. They will only make you feel ugly.
Get to know your parents. You never know when they'll be gone for good. Be nice to your siblings. They're your best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.
Understand that friends come and go, but with a precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle, because the older you get, the more you need the people who knew you when you were young.
Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard. Live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft. Travel.
Accept certain inalienable truths: Prices will rise. Politicians will philander. You, too, will get old. And when you do, you'll fantasize that when you were young, prices were reasonable, politicians were noble, and children respected their elders.
Respect your elders.
Don't expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund. Maybe you'll have a wealthy spouse. But you never know when either one might run out.
Don't mess too much with your hair or by the time you're 40 it will look 85.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia. Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Is what I’m doing right now in alignment with my goals?
Is this a level 10 on the critical scale, or just a level 5?
Am I focused on my top 3 critical tasks?
Step #6: Just Say “No”Just say no to tasks that are not in alignment with your goals. The word no is probably the biggest time saver there is so increase your “no” ratio if you want to increase your productivity.The number one person you’ll probably have to say no to is yourself. Your mind is good at coming up with new things to do to get you off track. So remember, just say no, because the quickest way to stop a man with a good idea, is to give him two.Back to our weight loss example; there will be many opportunities for me to say “no:”
If I’ve planned a healthy lunch (based on my diet plan), and someone asks me to join them at a steak house…It’s best if I just say no, in a nice way, as eating a steak for lunch is not in alignment with my goals.

This is how I’m planning on completing this task, and I will update you on my progress every Saturday at 8:00am.”Knowing that I have to be accountable on a specific goal, on a specific day, to a specific person, is a great motivator. Ra-ra-rambling
Today has been an unproductive day, but I'm loving every minute of it. I've sat around and watched a million episodes of Roseanne today! :) Love, love, love that show!!! One of my all time favorites.
I'm having a hard time concentrating on something right now. It's like I feel like I can't do enough around my house. I also feel like I have given up on working up again. Why is it so hard to do this? I'm not even slipping into my eating disorder ways. It's more like...not caring anymore. I care about what I look like, I care about being healthy, however, I think I've taken a 180.
I will figure this out :) I love analyzing. Sometimes it's mentally draining because I can over*analyze certain things a lot. I'm always trying to figure out more about myself and others. Motives. Behaviors. So interesting. Which is why I have really been leaning towards working with mental illness and psychology. I gave up the idea for a bit and leaned towards nursing. But, my heart loves helping those in need mentally.
Anyways, this was just a little ramble. Will try to keep up with writing more often. Why do I find that so hard to do most the time?

Unleashing...
I close my eyes and the first thing I see is me....in a picture....but this picture hasn't been taken yet. I'm standing there and I have this cardigan on, oatmeal, maybe merlot, and a nice tee underneath with a pair of cute shoes, dark jeans, a belt, and a watch and some jewelry. I envision my nails being longer...most likely from getting them done and always having shampoo and conditioner, all the body lotions, scrubs, make-up. I just want to keep up with myself!! I want be able to wear the clothes I want to wear, have my hair done and dyed and kept up.
I'll be moving soon, which I'm looking forward to more than anything else. I want the independence. I want more power and control. I don't want to control everything, but maybe work on control myself. Regardless....a new home of my own. Can't wait.
Part of me wants to turn this into something creative. Turn it into a blog for others to really read and feel inspired by and look at cool pictures. Maybe share my own thoughts, pictures, poems, etc. I just have this creativity bug in me. Must unleash it!!!!!

Picky
Day 1 of being better with my eating choices ;)
I just like fatty foods WAY too much! They are so fun and comfortable.
I went to Portillo's today and had a salad with chicken and walnuts. Yum!
And a cup of fruit. Eating healthy can be exhausting! hahah. But actually, it was very good! I liked it - muy mucho! :)
5 of my favorite things right now:

3. Smoking Popes
4. Driving at night
5. Love Line

Stillness
It's been a while since I was last on here.
I've been a bit lazy in the posting department!
Working a lot. Tired by bed time! Not staying up that late anymore, although, I miss the night life! I feel a lot more comfortable in the evening. But, in terms of depression, the sunlight is sooooooo good for me. =)
I've been living a very stagnant life lately. And I've been thinking so much about how we are only given this one day...this one moment...and how I really want to be making it count.
Seriously need to figure out what I'm doing and stop standing still!

If You're Happy and You Know It - Clap Your Hands!
Hi!!! Happy Thursday! I have to say that I think Thursday is my favorite day. I love them all, but Thursdays are just....delightful and delicious. haha.
A website that I found online made me laugh:

It doesn't have anything to do with a cat throwing up grass. And to be honest, that is a really random name. But in a way, I think I like it. :)
I think I put too much pressure on myself to write something smart or clever or witty, but sometimes...I'm not. I think I have acting "fine" down to an art. I'm really good at seeing the positive things in life...and generally, that's my personality, so when I'm not feeling that way, I have the tendency to put on a smile anyway. I am usually the listener and support!!
I'm glad that I have a place to vent now!! :)

Happy Monday
There are so many people out there that choose to feel Mondays are horrible and a day that will, continuously, cause more and more grief as the day goes on. And sure, some Mondays I feel that way, but I mostly feel like Monday is the beginning of a new week. It's as if you could basically wipe the slate free from the previous week and start anew. I like that :)
Today, I start work at 12:00p and then I'm heading out to work out! I'm loving the feeling that I am getting from stretching and working my body out. I feel so energized after I'm done and with the weather getting nicer, I can't wait to go outside and do more things with Marley. (My dog). He's a crazy standard poodle that I got two years ago with my boyfriend. He's the smartest animal I've ever met. And yes, he uses it to his advantage, daily. Eh, more like minute by minute.
On a totally seperate note! hahaha
I decided I'm going to try to put a link daily to some random website that I found and totally dig :) Hope you like it.

This is such a cool website because it offers vintage, off the wall, creative things to buy, use, create, and oogle over. Check it out and let me know. I'm sure a bunch of you have already heard of it...

Our Deepest Fear
Hi! I'm Amy. New to Blogspot. :)
Can't wait to spend countless hours and hours on here!!
I thought that I would start this off with one of the most impactful poems I've ever read. The Book is called, "A Return to Love," and was written by Marianne Williamson.
Our Deepest Fear....
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, "who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?"
Actually, who are we not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not in some of us; it's in everyone.
And when we let our own light shine.
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear our presence automatically liberates others.
